The Rector of The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Taiwo Akande has commended the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for sustaining the accreditation exercise which has continued to serve as an opportunity for Institutions to regularly evaluate themselves in terms of quality academics delivery and improve where necessary.
The Rector, who stated this in her welcome remark while receiving about a hundred man team of NBTE accreditation facilitators at the Conference Hall of the Polytechnic on Monday, 3rd July, 2017, observed that without accreditation visits, many institutions will go moribund.
Dr. Akande noted that as one of the second generation Polytechnics in Nigeria, the Federal Polytechnic Ado – Ekiti has continued to live up to expectation with recorded success in several Linkages/Partnerships/Collaborations with Institutions such as Aberystwyth University Wales, United Kingdom; Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko; Kwame Nkrumah University, Kumasi Ghana; 11TA and SMEDAN among others not only to showcase the Institution to the world but to develop the students for the outside world.
She assured the accreditation facilitators covering a total of about 40 programmes in two batches of the cooperation of all Heads of Departments and Staff, in diligently carrying out their duties.
Responding, the overall team leader, Alhaji Garba Nalado congratulated the Institution for the ability to host the accreditation programme, noting that the presence of the NBTE and the resource persons is to assist the Institution produce quality grade students.

He however appreciated the Rector and her Management team for the hospitality shown to his team since their arrival and assured that the team would do their best in the overall interest of quality Technical Education in Nigeria.
